suppose that the length of a rectangle is one and one-third times as long as its width. the area of the rectangle is 48 square centimeters. Find the length and the width of the rectangle.

the formula is A = Lw and they give you that A = 48. use what they show here to do this. they give you the length based on the width so pick a letter for the width. then do an expression for the length. put these into the formula and solve.
