Please help!!!

"Jace can run twice as fast as he walks. He runs 24 miles and walks for 16. The total time to complete the trip was 10 hours. How many hours did Jace walk?"

To learn how to set up and solve this sort of "uniform rate" exercise, please try this lesson. Once you have learned the basic terms and techniques, please attempt the exercise, starting with the usual set-up:

. . .walking:
. . . . .distance: 16
. . . . .rate: r
. . . . .time: 16/r

. . .running:
. . . . .distance: 24
. . . . .rate: 2r
. . . . .time: ??

Complete the table, set up the equation, and so forth. :wink:
