I have tried this: I need to find the area of the region enclosed by Y= x^2 - 1 and Y = x + 5.
What I have :

x^2 - 1 = x +5
x^2 - x - 6 =0
(x-3)(x+2) = 0
-2, 3

?
is the correct? i am not sure

You have correctly found the endpoints of the region. Now do the integration.
