Need help verifying an answer about piecewise functions.

Here is the problem:
Find the domain and range of this piecewise defined function;
f(x)= -2x^2 with restriction x greater than or equal to -2 and less than 1
-0.5 with restriction x=1
x with restriction x greater than 1

After graphing the piecewise functions, I determined that the domain = [-2, positive infinity]
and the range = [-8, 0] U (1, positive infinity].
The textbook has the answer D= [-1, positive infinity] and R= [-2, positive infinity].
Can someone please help me verify which answer is correct? Or maybe their both wrong? Thanks

I get the same answer you got. I'm guessing the book has a typo.
