Addition Property of Equality

Hey, I am having alot of trouble with the Addition Property of Equality. I really don't get it at all. Can Some one help?

The definition is : "if a=b, then a+c=b+c"

The property says that, if you add the same thing to both sides of an equation, the equation is still true.
