Plug the given number into the formula for the area A of a rectangle with width w and length L.

Solve for one of the variables.

Graph the resulting equation, and review the way that your book has defined "correlation". :wink:

width * length = area of 10 sq. inches ( a constant )

There is a "negative correlation" between length and width ( if you increase one of them, you have to decrease the other one so that their product remains 10. )
