Discussion Q: square's area incr. w/ perim; true for rect?

Jimmy says that the area of a square becomes larger as the perimeter of the square increases, so (he concludes) this relationship must also be true for rectangles. Do you agree? Why or why not? Justify your answer.

make 2 loops of string one bigger
shape into rectangles
find way for bigger loop to have smaller area
(make rect really wide but short)

if the smaller loop is almost square and the bigger one is almost just a line, its easy to see that the smaller perimiter has the bigger area. thnx! :thumb:
