Have you learned how to multiply polynomials vertically? Try using that method for this. You'd set it up like this:
4y + 3x + 6
7y + 3x - 4
-----------
Here is a similar exercise using the same set-up and solution method:

Code: Select all

2x - 3y + 5 x + 2y - 3 --------------------------------- - 6x + 9y - 15 <= -3 times the first polynomial 4xy - 6y^2 + 10y <= 2y times the first polynomial 2x^2 - 3xy + 5x <= x times the first polynomial --------------------------------- 2x^2 + xy - 6y^2 - x + 19y - 15 <= adding down the "like terms" columns
If you get stuck on the posted exercise, please reply showing your steps and reasoning so far. Thank you!
