### What is your favorite math, why, & how do you study for it?

hey I was wondering what your favorite math is and why. And furthermore how you study for it.

For example how do you study for Geometry when compared to Algebra ect ect...

Just curious I want to make sure that I have all my priorities straightened out correctly.

I guess I will be sitting by waiting for a result!

I think I like any math but graphing, because graphing is so slow and boring! You can do math way faster with algebra!

I prefer "solve for x"-type questions. Algebra was always fun, and I had a great teacher when I was in Gr 9. I liked trig too.

As far as my least favourite subjects, I never enjoyed calculus involving logarithms and ln's - I understood "The Relationship", and could fake it well enough, but logs were always muddy for me. Then I made the mistake of taking 1st year calc in university. The first half was a breeze, since it was basically repeating everything we learned in Gr 12. The second half was brutal though. Learning about "basic" integration seemed logical, but once we got into more difficult subjects, it all kind of "went downhill".

(Now I'm in 4th year! Where did the time go?!)

Geometry was okay. Just make a lot of flashcards for the rules. Trig is related, but doesn't feel the same at all!

Well there are many great types of math!
I love them all, but my favourite has to be algebra.
I don't really revise for math, but when I do, my approach is always the same.
Write out what you don't know and then write yourself a revision sheet.
Complete that sheet before being tested and it will never fail to get new math into your head.
Try it!
PS. I'm English, I am now in Year 9 (grade 8) and am one of the top 301 British mathematicians at my age.
I am gifted and talented and also really enjoy poetry, which I have won many competitions with.
I have a MENSA standard IQ.

But you don't need any of that to be good at maths.
Just approach each problem with a clear head, don't feel under pressure and most of all have a great time solving problems!!!!
Math can be fun if you make it that way.

My favorite math is algebra,i usually revise algebra formula using flashcards,find this method very effective and helps me memorize.I came across an intersting website www.funnelbrain.com that helps me create flashcards and videos.Found the site very useful for collaborative studies

My favorite type of math is probably Algebra and Geometry. I just go over the rules and formulas for both when I study.

i absoulutly haatteee rates. there so annoying.
i love propotions, such as:
a boy was standing by a flagpole. he is 4ft 11 in. his shadow was 5ft 6 in. the flagpole was 8ft tall. how big was the flagpoles shadow.

i also love missing piece problems, such as:
there are three brothers. there names are tom, tim, and ted. ted is 5 years older than tom. tim is 2 times teds age. together, there ages equal 79. find their ages.

1(tom)2(tim)3(ted)
x+2x(x+5)+x+5=79
4x+15=79
4x=64
x= 16

tom is 16 years old.
tim is 27 years old.
ted is 21 years old.

I love every kind of math, but especially Geometry and Algebra. Algebra, because it's like a geussing game, and Geometry, because I love science, and that plays in with volume and mass.
