Need help - Find the average rate of change ...

Postby WorshipDancer900 » Mon Oct 12, 2009 3:33 pm

MAT-142 - pre-calculus

f(x)=3x^2 - 7x +4
Find the average rate of change from x=0 to x=4

Isn't finding the average rate of change basically finding the slope? How can I do this?

Yes, the average rate of change is the slope.

To find the points, plug the given x-values into the given function, and simplify to find the y-values.

To find the slope, plug these two points into the slope formula.
