here is an online quartic equation calculator i used

it did come out to the book answer

so the book had a misprint

and it was a higher level equation

no wonder

>that [(-sqrt)] and [-(sqrt)] are two very different things

since i don't have a square root sign on my keyboard, i had to translate it thru keyboard characters

in the realm of complex numbers, the former is correct also although
it would usually be replaced with "sqrt(3)i"
