### Simplifying Logarithms

I could really use some help with this homework question.
Rewrite the given logarithm so that all products and exponents are eliminated.
ln(4x^2)

Here's the answer: ln 4+2 ln x

I don't have a very good grasp on the logarithm properties, could someone explain how this answer was derived? Thanks so much!

They explain it all here. In this example, 1st you'd split the multiplication inside into addition outside; 2nd you'd convert the power inside into a multiplier outside. Then you're done.
