use the rational zeros theorem to find all real zeros of the polynomial function and use the zeros to factor f over the real numbers. f(x)=11x^3-x^2+11x-1

They show how to do this here. Start with the Rational Zroes Thm to get the potential roots: +/- (1/11) so 1, 1/11, -1, -1/11. Try the easy ones first: 1, -1. As soon as you find one root, then do the Quadratic Thm to what's left.
