Homework Question - Uninhibited Growth

Postby UrsaDragon on Sat Nov 09, 2013 3:21 am

During 1991, 200,000 people visited Mt. Fuji. During 1997 the number had grown to 834,000. Find the exponential growth function that models this data.

I know the formula is A(t) = Aoekt but I have no clue on how I would start this problem.

Assume that "1991" stands for "t = 0". What then is the value of A0? What then is the value of t for "1997"? Plug this second value of t into the equation, along with the value you've determined for A0 and the value they give in 1997 for A, and solve for the value of k.
