finding exponential formula f(t)=a*b^t from 2 points

I need help! I need to find an exponential function of the form f(t)=a*b^t with point of (0,2) and (2,18).
So far I have worked it out to find the slope by y2-y1/x2-x1 = (18-2)=16 and (2-0)=2. But then I'm completely lost after that.

If you are trying to find the slope, which relates only to straight lines rather than to exponential curves, then either the instructions are wrong (you aren't supposed to be finding an exponential formula) or else you are needing to study some background material (such as the various types of non-straight lines, how exponents work, and then all about exponential equations and functions).

Please reply clarifying which is the case. Thank you.
