### noise level N = f(I) = 10log(I/I_o). find, interpret f^(-1)

The noise level, N, of a sound in decibels is given by: N=f(I) = 10log (I/I0), where I is the intensity of the sound and I0 is a constant. I need to find and interpret f-1(N)

help

I understand the basis of inverse functions, the output is input, input is output. The inverse undoes the function, etc., I am not sure how to find the inverse. I think it means that the Intensity of sound determines the noise level?

You've been provided a link (in addition to the worked solutions) in at least one of your other threads. Study that lesson to learn the general process for finding inverses. You'll also need to study the lessons on working with logs and solving log equations. Then you'll be able to start on finding the inverse.

I'm not sure which "it" you mean...?
