Algebra problem with three variables

Postby bellerum23 » Wed Nov 13, 2013 6:30 pm

Solve each system.

x + y + z = 4
x - y + z = 2
x - y - z = 0

Which one should I use to take out?

it doesnt matter. you get to choose. but maybe start w/ subtracting the 1st 2 to get the soln for y. & you can add the last 2 to get 2x-2y=2 so x-y=1. then back-solve to get x. then get z w/ any of the eqns.

but theres lots of other ways to solve it & those are just as good!
