x2-12xy+36y2

$-6+-6=-12$ and $(-6)\cdot(-6)=36$

so $x^2-12xy+36y^2=(x-6y)(x-6y)$

For an explanation of the method used in the solution provided in the previous reply, try this lesson on factoring quadratics.

Re: Factoring x2 - 12xy + 36y2

That's the answer I got as well.
I understand where I messed up though.

The reason why I got confused is because when I checked my answer
I forgot the rule about adding the terms and not increasing the degree on exponents.
(Don't know if that made sense.)

But thank you so much!!!
