I am to simplify the following quotient number into a+bi form.
-7+6i/9+6i
What I figured out is that 6i/6i equal 1 so I came up with -7/9+1i since -7/9 cannot be reduced any further. Is this correct?

You can learn how to do this here. (Scroll down to the second half of the page.)I am to simplify the following quotient number into a+bi form.
-7+6i/9+6i
No! For example, 20/10 = (15+5)/(5+5). By your reasoning, since 5/5 = 1 and 15/5 = 3, then 20/10 must equal 4!What I figured out is that 6i/6i equal 1 so I came up with -7/9+1i since -7/9 cannot be reduced any further. Is this correct?
