I would have to say this is the way I would solve the problem....
2p^2x-9x-32=0

Subtract - 32 from each side:
+ 2p^2x - 9x - 32 =+ 0
+ 32 + 32

Divide each side by + 2 .
+ 2p^2x - 9x =+ 32
------------- -----
+ 2 + 2

+ p^2x - 4.5x =+ 16

+ px - 4.5x ={+ 4 ,- 4 }(The answer)..
