how do u tell the difference between an exponential, quadratic and a square root function?-------f(x)= 3(2)+1......3^2-5 which is which?

Just use what you've learned while studying and graphing these sorts of functions.

Exponential functions have a numerical base, with the variable being in the exponent.

Quadratic functions have the form "y = (something in x2)", and graph as parabolas.

Radical functions have radicals in them. :wink:
