Hello i'm having problems with the following problem.
4 - m/n = p (solve for m)

When i solved it i got m = p - 4 x n. Do i combine the n with the p or the 4?

How did you get 'm = p - 4n'? What were your steps?

You can learn how to solve literal equations here. There are many ways to get started with this equation, and probably different looks to the answer (depending on the route you took to the answer); one way to start is:

$4\, -\, \frac{m}{n}\, =\, p$
$4n\, -\, m\, =\, np$
