having trouble with simplifying
[L]/([L/v])^2
i am trying to remove the square in the denominator

What do you mean by "removing" the square? Are you maybe trying to "simplify" by removing the parentheses? :confused:

here it is
1st remember that 2/5 is the same as 2*(1/5)
so [L]/([L/v])^2 becomes [L]*([v/L])^2

= (Lv^2)/L^2

= v^2/L
