Solving Systems by Substitution?

Hi, in algebra we are doing solving systems by substitution, and i thought I got it, but apparently not... I'm stuck on this problem. Can someone take me step by step through it please? Thank you so much!

y=x-2
y=4x+1

y=x-2
y=4x+1

Each equation is solved for "y=". So the steps are:

Pick one of the equations, and plug what y equals into the other equation, in place of y. Solve the resulting linear equation for the value of y. Then plug this value back in to either of the original equations, and solve for the value of y.

If you get stuck, please reply showing how far you got in following these steps. Thank you!
