### Help Please! Polynomials!

So, i have been basically failing, because my teacher doesnt like explaining.

What do i do if an equation has the same variable, but on each side of the equal sign?
What are all the steps?

To learn how to simplify with parentheses, try here. To learn how to solve linear equations, try here.

Once you've studied the lessons, so you've replaced the material not provided in class, please attempt the exercise. The first step will be to multiply out the parentheses, and then combine the "like" terms, to get:

. . . . .$3x\, +\, 3\, =\, x\, +\, 5$

Then subtract the $x$ to the left, subtract the $3$ to the right, etc, etc.
