After a reduction of 2/7 , a TV sold for $625. WHat was its original price?
x-.28x=625
.72x=625
divide both sides by .72
x=868.80
where did i go wrong?

Probably the error was in replacing the exact fraction with a decimal approximation. Try using the same steps, but with "2/7" instead of "0.28", and see what you get. :wink:
