I'm going to guess that the instructions actually said to "simplify", since what is posted has no variable nor anything on the other side of the "equals", so it isn't possible to "solve"...?
To simplify, convert the fractions to their common denominator of 24. Add the two fractions inside the parentheses. Then subtract the result from the first fraction. Simplify the answer, if possible.
