Solving the proportion

Postby huriah » Fri May 23, 2014 10:09 pm

HI,
How is it going? Could you please tell me how you would solve this proportion question:

In a hospital 24 ml of drug is mixed with 1.2 liters of water to form a drug solution. Following this ratio how many ml of water would be needed to mix with 1.2ml of drug.
I have been out of college for long time .Please reply me.
Thanks.

1st: turn 1.2L into 12000ml: http://www.purplemath.com/modules/metric.htm
do like they show in the lesson at the link:
(water mL)/(drug mL): 12000/24 = w/1.2
then solve for w & you're done!
