mutally Exclusive problem: picking Q or A from deck

ok the question on my math homework sais...

Probability of picking a queen or an ace from a deck of cards.

ok, well i know that a desk of cards has 52 cards in it. a decl of cards has 4 queens and 4 aces. so wouldn't you do....

4/52 + 4/52, which would give you 8/52, which simplifies to 2/13?, or would you mult. it. i am so confused?

There are eight cards that are either queens or else aces. So adding is the right way.
