Exam Question: what is relation between vectors AB, AC, BC?

Hi all,

I have just had a proper GCSE exam and i received a question which i did not understand. I was hoping someone here could shed some light on it for me. The Question was worth 4 marks 1 for part A and 3 for part B.

The question asked me this.
Part A.
If a is vector AB and b is vector AC what relation is vector BC to them? (or something similar.)



Part B

Show that 1/2(3AB + 2AC) was equal to the vector AP

At a guess, the relationship was probably vector addition or subtraction...?

Without specifics, I'm not sure that anything can be said regarding your second question. Sorry.
