Help with proof of trig identity.

I will be honest this is my first post here and am 100% new to the site. But I have been staring at this problem for nearly an hour and I am stuck. I am trying to verify the following identity.

(sin^2(t))/(1-cos(t))= 1+cost. and this is what I have so far.

I assume I should pick apart the left side as its more complicated. so (sin^2(t))/(1-cos(t)) --> (1-cos2t)/2)/(1-cost). I think but from there I am stuck. Am I even looking at things from the right direction? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Rather than using a double-angle identity, it might be simpler to use something simpler: perhaps the basic Pythagorean Identity, sin²(t) + cos²(t) = 1. Then factor and cancel.
