### Re: Triangle Questions

To readers: The image is too large to display within most viewing windows. The content may be described as follows:

Triangle ABC, with point D on AB and point E on AC. Line BE splits angle ABC into angle ABE with measure 21 degrees and angle EBC with measure 63 degrees. Line CD splits angle BCA into angle BCD with unstated measure and angle DCA with measure 30 degrees. Lines BE and CD intersect, interior to the triangle, at point F. Angle BDF has measure 48 degrees. In triangle DEF, the measure of angle FDE is given as being "alpha".

Code: Select all

```ASCII: A @ @ @ @ @ @ @ @ @ @ @ @ @ @ ...___ @ D @'@. '''...___ @ @ '@. ''' @ E @ 48 '@. .@' @ @ '@. .@' @ @ .@'@. @ @ .@' F '@. @ @ .@' '@. @ @ .@' '@. @ @ .@' '@. 30 @ @ 21 .@' '@. @ @ .@' '@. @ @ @' 63 '@. B @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ C```
No instructions were included. It is assumed that the poster is needing to solve for the value of the measure of alpha.
In Firefox you can just right click the image and then choose view image and then you can view the image scaled down to fit your browser window. For other browsers I am not sure if this is possible but the other major browsers probably have similar functionality.
### Re: Triangle Questions
BTW I just saw that this is a pretty old question but I am trying to solve it anyway for fun but I am stuck.
I would have the answer if I could find out the value of a,b, c, or d. Just the value of any one of these variables would be enough for me to solve it.
Code: Select all
```a+b=132 c+d=141 a+d=111 b+c=162```
But I am really bad at solving systems of equations, I tried substituting but it does not work because I ended up with b=132-111+141-162+b, which basically says that 0=0.

Does anyone know how to find out the value of any one of these variables?
