sin cos tan no constant problem

I cannot figure out how to simplify the following problem:

[sin(x)/tan(x)] + cos(x)tan(x)

The instructions are to simplify.
How do i go about this?

A good place to start might be to convert everything to sines and cosines, and see if anything cancels. Or you could try converting to a common denominator, and seeing if the combined fraction leads anywhere helpful.

To be honest, though, many times these things only seem to "rearrange"; the "simplified" form often doesn't seem a whole lot "simpler", at least not to me.

I just used common denominator, and i found the correct answer in my book! thanks for the idea
