"heartbeat"on a graph

what is the heartbeat looking thing on a graph? it means up to that number. like at the origin, before the first number, there is a zigzag line that looks like something on a heart monitor.
help appreciated.

semister quiz tomorrow.

semester quiz tomorrow, any suggestions? the 8th grade is being compared to the high school. im so nervous. any suggestions as to what to do? i get reaaaallllllyyyy nervous when it comes to tests and quizzes. its timed, and its my first timed test.

let x= jills score
3x+2x-100=900
5x-100=900
5x=1000
x=200

CHECK(hehe,i forgot this step):
3(200)+2(200)-100=900
600+400-100=900

i got it!
