I know that the sum of 9+4 =13 and 9*4 =36, but it is a negative 13 and negative 36. I am not seeing how I can use these numbers when I check my problem using various combinations using the FOIl method. Do you think it is Prime? Or is it a combination of 4 and 9 or something else? You're welcome - And, Thank You! Thank you for your reply, as well. We had a review in class today and while he didn't go over this specific problem, he did review similar ones... and it just *clicked* - and I feel like SUCH and idiot... Substitution!!! I needed to substitue a^2 - 6 for a variable.....
