After a reduction of 2/7 , a TV sold for $625. WHat was its original price?
x-.28x=625
.72x=625
divide both sides by .72
x=868.80
where did i go wrong?

Exactly how much of a coffee cake is left for you after andrew eats one fourth of the cake, paul eats one fifth of the cake, anna eats one third of the cake and mary its one eigth of the cake?

.35(percent of monthly income ) *525= 183.75
I honestly have no idea, i guess i that i wanted x to stand for monthly income. Does the above expression make more sense? I am very lost.
