hi all.. I'm having a trouble with my self confidence. my last math exam was terrible :confused: i studied hard for it and i knew if i did the exam i will get 80's or something. but what happened is that i got 40..... !! I've been always scared of math each time i work on it. what shall i do to take...

if there is something with brackets, you need to do it first... so multiply the " -5 " by the numbers and variables inside the brackets, then it's going to be easy

4x+9=-3

4x = -3 - 9

4x = -12

then you divide the both sides by the number " 4 " because you want the " x " to be alone .

so it is going to be like this when you divide the both sides by " 4 "

x = -3
