Product involving a difference as an exponent  TOPIC_SOLVED

I'm learning discrete math, but having a problem with an algebraic simplification, so I think I'm posting this in the right place.

2(2n-1) = 2n but I don't see how this is.

It seems to me that 2(2n-1) = 4n-1

What is the rule at work here?
