Ron C. ...It's also more important than it used to be because algebra 2 concepts are included on the new SAT. Sadly, most of today's students have very limited vocabularies. This detracts from their reading comprehension and essay writing, thereby huring their scores on the SAT and other standardized tests.

Throughout my schooling at Long Branch high school, I was asked to help student after school with all subjects of Math (i.e. Geometry, Algebra, Precalc, and Statistics.) In addition to providing in school tutoring, I did some out of school tutoring for families who belonged to my church.

I have a strong knowledge of local government thanks to that position, and I very much enjoyed meeting new people and discussing current events with them. I favor the one-to-one approach to teaching, but there are benefits to the Think-Pair-Share method as well.
