Steven D. ...I enjoy teaching it because it is the beginning of the bridge from algebra and geometry to calculus, combining elements of all topics. It is very important to understand the concepts early in the course--you do not want to fall behind. I believe trig should be taught as it was years ago, with an emphasis on rigor and the concepts, and not RELYING on the calculator.
