Gary D. I'm a strong believer in comprehensive learning, as opposed to teaching someone how to pass a test. One method that I find useful is to have a student explain a lesson in his own words, because one of the best ways to learn something is to explain it to someone else. Unexpected questions and relations come up this way, which I believe are essential for learning.
