As with anything, the key is to consistently practice and identify your weaknesses. Ideally, you should be learning new vocabulary words everyday (in context) and reviewing them up until the day of the test.

Seyithan A. ...I know from first-hand experience that it is very difficult to learn without getting your hands dirty, especially for topics like Math and Comp Sci. I'll use textbooks at times as a reference or for having a plentiful set of examples. For Math topics, I'll typically come up with examples on the fly so that I can focus on areas where students have most trouble.
