In my personal research I have led ecology studies around the region, conducted experiments with DNA, and used software tools for modeling systems, large-scale computation, and writing programs. I am active in the community as well.

...Animal husbandry is not the only job in a zoo, teaching people about how, why and where animals live is also important. Having that experience allowed me to enter the teaching profession and bring that passion to the classroom. One of my favorite comments from students is when they say “Wow, I got it.” This clear understanding of a biological concept is a first step on classroom success.
