My background is in engineering and business, so I use an applied math approach to teaching. I find knowing why the math is important goes a long way towards helping students retain information. ...While at Johns Hopkins as an undergraduate I worked as a Study Consultant for the Office of Academic Advising. I helped students develop organizational, time management and study skills. Some methods that I encourage include SQ3R, Concept Mappings, creating study guides and using mnemonics. (read more)
