I hold Pennsylvania Level II teaching certifications in English 7-12, Math 7-12, and Health K-12. Additionally, I was two classes away from getting a B.S. in general science. ...I have worked mostly with students from South America who were learning English as Second Language and they achieved the first level proficiency in English as a second language. Unfortunately, they moved out of the area and we could not finish the next level. I understand what is is like to learn a foreign language.

...At Penn, I participated in internships and taught two semesters. For the internships, I worked with a field crew collecting soil samples on an environmental study with a Penn professor and doctoral student. The second internship was completed at the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center under a grant for undergraduate research (a REU grant) from the National Science Foundation.
