I truly think that people can learn anything. It is simply a matter of how much work is put in.

Michael L. ...Instead of presenting the student with a parade of ideas, I help the student to see each new topic as simply a new expression of ideas they already know. At the end, the student sees all of algebra as essentially an expression of these first few ideas. I find this approach makes learning much much easier, much much faster, much easier to retain.

With all students, I use pictures and analogies to help students attach math concepts to knowledge and understanding they already possess. This develops brain connections that increase retention and higher level thought processes.
