Jennifer O. ...Here is where I believe it is important to teach students become truly "self-sufficient" in their math journey: I do not allow the use of calculators when I help Algebra students. I believe they need to develop their algebra skills with the use of their own mind and good old-fashioned pencil and paper. This is how I learned math, and I believe I have strong math skills because of that.
