I feel strongly that vocabulary must be learned in context, so a reliance on flash cards is not a major part of how I teach vocabulary. I also feel strongly that dictionaries, while useful, should not be the primary source of knowledge about the definitions of words.

Relating those concepts to real life scenarios helps make the content relevant, interesting, and answers the question "Why do I have to know this?" Teaching history is similar. Relate the material to current events and real life situations and students will understand.

Sean W. ...I often helped students in the class to understand the more complicated lessons. I plan to go over the current chapter with students, practice the concepts with them, and review the content before and after tests. I took World History AP last year and got a 5 on the AP test.
