I have served for 30 years as an officer in the army in the branch dealing with electronics and communications engineering. After retirement from the army, I joined as a professor in electronics and communication engineering in a university. After teaching for 12 years in two universities, I took retirement.

...I know students often get their drafts returned with changes, but no explanation. I think the explanation is the most important part if students are expected to understand how to improve their writing. Reading, both comprehension and enjoyment, are important qualities for students to have.
