Leslie C. ...I value the importance of WHY and not just HOW. Mathematics is a much easier subject when you know WHY you are doing something rather than simply memorizing the HOW to do it. If necessary, individualized homework assignments will be given to students.

Erik A. ...My favorite math course was Discrete Mathematics taught by professor Jordan Ellenberg. Professor Ellenberg just published a great book that covers many of the topics from that class called "How Not to Be Wrong: The Power of Mathematical Thinking"! Outside of academia, I train, teach, and compete in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
